Outgrowing Food Allergies for Your Children

Description: With the advancement and improvement of medical science people are coming to know about allergies every day.  However till date there is no cure for the people who are suffering from allergies.  At best it can be prevented.  The most pertinent question for you would be whether your children can outgrow the food allergies.

Science and technologies are advancing day by day and every other day some new and breaking innovations are coming up that is changing the scenario of the world of health and fitness. It is therefore quite natural that the scientists are learning new facts about allergies every day.  Bad news for you is that even today no permanent cure has been innovated in respect of allergies.  About 150-200 deaths occur every year in United States alone due to allergic affects alone. Most of them are caused by reaction to foods consumed by the people.

Even though new facts and inventions are coming up every now and then, no cure has still been innovated and the peanut allergy is on the growth especially among the children. If your child is one of them or he or she is suffering from allergy when consuming some particular food, then you may have a question or two to ask.  The most pertinent question for you would be whether your children will outgrow the allergy from which he or she suffers.

In fact it depends on a number of factors.  It is a medically known fact that cow milk and eggs causes allergies in most people than any other food that are in common use.  Good news for you is that recent surveys have revealed that nearly 50% of the infants outgrow there allergy when they reach the age of three years.  And more than two third of these people outgrow their allergy by the time they are 5 years old.  Bad news again is that while milk and egg allergies are easily outgrown, fish and peanut allergies take much more time for outgrowing.  In essence when the reactions are more serious, they can be outgrown with much more difficulties.

Scientists conduct several tests to detect and cure the food allergies.  One of the latest types of tests is the ImmunoCAP Specific IgE blood tests.  This is not like the skin testing. The test is conducted using the blood samples that will indicate as result the IgE levels.  It can cure the common allergens such as the mold, grass, animal dander normally coming from the cats and dogs and several such other foods.

However, there are also quite a food labels that are not as easy reading. It is not only the main food that can cause allergic affects but also the foods made with such food contents that can have similar affects as well. For instance if egg is the reason for allergic affects you should also avoid cakes that contains egg and when it is milk you should avoid casein, whey, and curds. Difficulties in reading food labels have prompted many food companies to come up with statements containing the ingredients or the allergy information on the label. If you know what ails your child or the person affected by allergic tendencies then you will be able to avoid such food that contains the ingredients that could cause allergy or prevent your child outgrowing allergy.
