Lets talke Acai berry

The Acai berry (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is a dark purple colored fruit that belongs to the palm family. The acai tree looks similar to the palm tree and this variety is extensively grown in the rain forest of the Amazon basin. It is just like a blueberry or a cranberry at a size identical to that of a grape. It bears exceptionally highest nutritional quality and so is a very good dietary fruit. Over hundreds of years, the natives of the central and South America have been taking this acai berry as a part of their diet.  

Unlike grapes, 90% of the acai berry is the seed and only 10% is edible. The pulp and skin of the acai berry is the most valuable component and is highly nutritious. Sometimes the seeds are dried and are used in the preparation of medicines. Acai berry tastes like a combination of chocolate and the usual berries. The rich taste and healthy nutrients makes acai berry so special and the most sought after fruit. Moreover, the antioxidants in acai berry are very high when compared to the antioxidant contents of cranberry, blackberry, raspberry, blueberry or strawberry. Surprisingly, the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value of acai berries is 5,500 per 100 grams which is an evidence of its highest antioxidant properties. For apples the ORAC value per 100 grams is just 218, bananana-221, blue berry-2,400.

These berries, with their awfully rich antioxidant properties prevent the risk of heart attack and cancer which are more often caused by oxidative stress. The antioxidants in acai berry are 15-20 times higher when compared to red grapes.  The acai berry is also rich in amino acids and essential fatty acids.  The acai berry helps in weight loss and works wonders. It also acts as instant energizer and immensely boosts the resistance power. Acai berry also cures insomnia resulting in a more relaxing sleep. It fights against premature aging and inflammation.

The acai beery has gained substantial popularity for its evidently magical results in loosing excessive weight in a very little time. Therefore, a lot of health and beauty conscious people have shown keen interest on the acai fruit and came forward to further try it for its marvelous benefits.
